Guild Activities: What Are We Up To?

Explore this page to find out what Canyon Quilters are doing at their monthly guild meetings. Learn about our silent auctions, officer elections, November member Challenge and many other activities. The contents of this page vary based on what’s going on.

Officer Elections

Canyon’s Officer Elections are coming up. At the May guild meeting we announce the slate of nominees for the Elected Officers (Pres, VP, Secretary and Treasurer). We publish the slate in the June newsletter. Canyon members vote in June, with the vote concluding at the June guild meeting. After that, the Officer’s start their new term July 1st and are in office through June 31st.

Canyon’s July 19th Meeting Is Our Annual FUNdraiser

A Fun-Filled Evening Featuring An Auction & Activities!

This year’s FUNdraiser is at the July 19th guild meeting, starting at 6:30pm using Zoom. The event is a silent auction using We have about 65 unique items in the auction, for a total of 80 items. Plus we’ll have some activities during the event for the participants.

Offering 60+ unique items in the auction:

  • Fabric bundles. Some are all fabric while others might also have notions, patterns or books
  • Specialty-themed baskets. Everything in the basket is about the theme! Think animals, pampering yourself, food, art. The list goes on and on…
  • Super powers. Services, classes and different kinds of activities or events, such as food, knitting, quilt binding, paddle board lessons, barn quilt painting and on and on!

Before the Auction

How do I look at the items in

Once the auction is live we email the link to the auction to Canyon members. With this link you can view the auction items without an account.

To bid on items, you must create an account at All you need to open an account is your name, an email and a password.

What emails do I receive and how do I change them?

Stop All Emails:

To unsubscribe from all notifications, including auction notifications, you’ll need to cancel your account. Please see How do I cancel my account? for more information.

Reduce the Number of Emails:

Almost all notifications are related to participating in an auction and are only sent while the auction is running. Please see What notifications are sent, when are they sent, and can they be customized? for more information.

The following instructions explain how to unsubscribe from specific notifications:

Watchlist Notifications (Bid Activity)

You can unsubscribe from notifications about bid activity on items you’ve added to your Watchlist. To unsubscribe from all Watchlist notifications, click the Edit My Account Information link on the My Account page and then uncheck the box next to “Notify me of bid activity on items in My Watchlist”.

During the Auction

I am willing to pay up to $50 for an item, but want it at the lowest price.

You want to make a proxy bid, which allows you to enter the maximum amount you’re willing to spend with the goal of winning the item at the lowest possible price. The system will bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item. This continues until your maximum amount is reached, at which time the system stops placing bids on your behalf, and sends you an email that you’ve been outbid.

To enter a proxy bid enter your maximum bid, choose the Proxy Bid button and submit your bid.

I want to bid $25 for an item. What do I do?

You’ll want to make an exact bid. An exact bid is the amount you want the item’s current selling price to immediately jump to. Your bid amount won’t change as additional bids are entered on the item.

To enter an exact bid, enter your bid amount, click the Exact Bid button, and then submit your bid

There's an item I love & I want to know when someone else bids. How do I do this?

Add the item to your Watchlist by clicking the heart on the item so it turns pink. After this you are notified when someone else bids on the item. You can view the items in your Watchlist by clicking the heart button on the auction bar (next to the Search box).

After the Auction

How do I pay for the items I won?

When you win an item, the Canyon Treasurer will email you an invoice and the available payment methods. You may pay using a credit card, debit card or PayPal, where each of these payments is through the PayPal interface.

Alternately, you can arrange with the Treasurer to pay when the item(s) is delivered (using a check and attaching it to a copy of the invoice).

Once I pay for my item(s) how do I get them?

The Canyon Treasurer informs the auction administrators when payment is complete. After that, we reach out to you, most likely using email, to arrange delivery.
